In compliance with the Taipei City Government's announcement, starting from July 22, 2025, all on-campus food and beverage vendors are required to implement pricing for single-use tableware.

To promote waste reduction at the source and move toward net-zero emissions, the Taipei City Government has announced that, starting July 22, 2025, government agencies, public and private schools, and outsourced venues managed by Taipei City Government may no longer provide single-use food containers, bowls, chopsticks, or spoons free of charge when selling food and beverages. Each single-use item must be charged at no less than NT$1. The types of disposable tableware and the minimum pricing standards are illustrated in the following official notice from the Taipei City Environmental Protection Department:

According to the Environmental Protection Department of the Taipei City Government, reducing the use of single-use tableware helps alleviate the generation of large amounts of waste and reduces the burden of waste management. Through a legal framework promoting both “vendor regulation” and the “user pays” principle, the government encourages the public to adopt the habit of bringing their own reusable tableware. By cultivating the concept of “bring your own” and “reuse” in daily life, we can cherish our resources and reduce the use-once-and-dispose behavior, contributing collectively to environmental protection.
