What are On-site health services doing?

Pursuant to Article 3 of the Ministry of Labor's "Labor Health Protection Rules", schools must deploy labor health service medical and other professionals to participate in the promotion of workplace safety and health, regularly assist the school in implementing health management matters, intervene in psychological or musculoskeletal disease prevention measures to provide health consultation and services, strengthen the assessment and management of workers at high occupational health risks, and propose improvement measures for factors within the organization that affect the physical and mental health of faculty and staff, in order to maintain the physical and mental health of faculty and staff and prevent the occurrence of occupational diseases.

Spiritual Connotation

By having professional medical personnel reach every different industry, using their professional knowledge of human health and disease, combined with the results of risk identification at the workplace, all information is integrated to clarify potential environmental and occupational health hazards, and further assist business units and personnel to make improvements. In this way, all personnel can work with greater peace of mind and still maintain good health when they enter middle age and old age. This is the spirit and connotation of on-site service. Improving the health care rate of our country's workers, implementing occupational injury and disease prevention, physical and mental health protection, health management and promotion, etc., this is closely related to you and me.

Services

  • Analysis and evaluation of physical (health) examination results and health management of faculty and staff.
  • Assist employers in selecting and matching employees for appropriate jobs.

Provide follow-up management and health guidance for those with abnormal health examination results.

  • Handle the assessment and case management of employees under the age of 18, faculty and staff with maternal health hazards, workers with occupational injuries and diseases, and workers with high risks related to occupational health.
  • Preservation of occupational hygiene or health-related research reports and injury and disease records.
  • Planning and implementation of health education, hygiene guidance, physical and mental health protection, and health promotion measures for faculty and staff.
  • Prevention, health consultation, first aid and emergency treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Regular reporting to employers and recommendations from faculty and staff health services.
  • Identify and evaluate hazards in the workplace environment, operations, and organization that affect the physical and mental health of faculty and staff, and recommend improvement measures.
  • Propose suggestions for improvement planning of workplace safety and sanitation facilities.
  • Investigate the relationship between the health status of faculty and staff and their work, and take necessary preventive and health promotion measures.
  • Provide consultation and suggestions on function assessment, job redesign or adjustment for faculty and staff returning to work.
  • Others designated and announced by the central competent authority.

On-site health services

In accordance with Article 3 of the Ministry of Labor's "Labor Health Protection Rules", our school (three campuses) provides 42 on-site health services each year; environmental safety and occupational health managers, labor health service physicians or occupational medicine physicians, and health center occupational nurses visit the laboratory (internship factory) and work environment together.

Special health protection

  • The Health Center conducts special health examinations for faculty, staff and students of the Environmental Safety and Health Investigation Laboratory every year, and provides health education and referrals based on the examination results.
  • In order to strengthen the emergency rescue capabilities of our school's laboratories that use toxic chemicals, the Health Center and the Environmental Safety and Hygiene Center assisted in the purchase and installation of antidotes for laboratory personnel to use in emergency rescue at night and on holidays to maintain the safety and health of faculty, staff and students.
